Even under poor leadership, First Christian Church of Florissant and its members continue their legacy of good works in the name of Jesus Christ.  If you’ve decided to withhold or reduce your tithe during these troubling times, please consider directly giving to the missions and outreach that depend on FCCF for support and guidance.

Their good works should continue, and they deserve our continued support.

Here’s a bio sheet for local and cross-cultural missions.  Read through it and pick out the ones you want to directly support.

Nenos de Mexico

Ninos de Mexico logoNiños de México is a non-profit mission organization directly supported by churches and individuals throughout the United States.

The Greater Mexico City Area is one of the largest urban areas in the world with population estimates ranging from 19.2 million to some 30 million people. In this city alone, there are hundreds of thousands of street children. Some have been orphaned. Others have been abandoned. Still, others are abused. All need the love of Jesus.

Since 1967, Niños de México has been giving LIFE to these children one child at time. Many of these children have grown up to become doctors, ministers, teachers, and more, helping to spread the good news of Jesus Christ in Mexico. Today, we are actively involved in sharing Jesus with the children and people of Mexico through our four children’s homes, Christian school, medical outreach, and church plants.

Niños de México operates four children’s homes in the Mexico City area. Each home is designed to function as a family. With Christian house parents, their kids, and 11-19 children, Niños’ homes are truly loving and caring places for the children to grow and learn the love of Jesus.

Eric & Melissa Davis – Pioneer Bible Translators

Eric-Melissa-Davis-feat-img-150x153Eric and Melissa have long felt called to serve the Lord in missions.  Since high school, they were involved in mission trips around the U.S. and the world.  In fact, they first met in 2005 while preparing for summer-long mission internships in Africa.  Melissa has gone on mission trips to Native American reservations in the U.S. and to Kenya, where she taught school, educated people about AIDS, and talked to many about Jesus.  Eric has been blessed with opportunities to minister in several countries around the world, including Malawi, India, Thailand, Myanmar, and Haiti.  These experiences greatly influenced Eric and Melissa as they contemplated what the Lord was calling them to do long term.

Eric spent two years studying finance (Rockhurst University) before transferring to Johnson University (in Knoxville, TN), where he completed his Bachelor’s degree in Bible and Missions.  The years he spent there were very formative in shaping his heart and vision for missions, as well as giving him a deeper understanding of the Bible.  Furthermore, it was during this time that Eric first heard about the work being done in West Africa and the great need for missionaries among an unreached people group there.  He is now very close to finishing his Master’s degree in Intercultural Studies from Johnson University.  Melissa went to Truman State University (in northern Missouri), where she received a Bachelor’s degree in French and a Master’s degree in Elementary Education.  Her study of French and subsequent research of French-speaking West Africa gave her more of a heart to minister there.
